Mo Willems is a New York Times bestselling author, Emmy Award-winning writer, illustrator and animator. He is well known for his series of children's books. In 2009, his book Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus! was inducted into the Indies Choice Book Hall of Fame. Willems began his career as a writer and animator on Sesame Street, which earned him six Emmy Awards. Throughout his career, he has created and written for several television series, including Cartoon Network's Sheep in the Big City and Nickelodeon's The Off-Beats. Willems is also a Kennedy Center Education Artist-in-Residence and teamed up with them for their video series Thank You Thursdays!, which aired in May 2020. In 2022, Willems' animated musical, Naked Mole Rat Gets Dressed: The Underground Rock Experience, premiered on HBO Max. Most recently, Willems is releasing two new books, Be the Bus: The Lost and Profound Wisdom of The Pigeon and Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus! 20th Anniversary Edition.
