Mickey Rourke

Actor

Mickey Rourke is an Oscar-nominated actor and former boxer. Rourke made his feature film debut in Steven Spielberg's 1979 film 1941, but it was his turn in 1981's Body Heat that caught Hollywood's attention. Rourke next starred in 1982's Diner, 1983's Rumble Fish and 1986's Nine 1/2 Weeks, which turned him into a star. He followed it up with another impressive performance in 1987's Barfly. But just a few years later, Rourke put acting on the backburner to return to professional boxing. Though he continued to make small appearances in films like 1997's The Rainmaker, Rourke's real return to form was 2005's Sin City. Three years later, he starred in The Wrestler, earning a Best Actor Oscar nomination. In 2010, Rourke played the villain to Robert Downey Jr. in Iron Man 2 and joined The Expendables. The actor reprises his comeback role in the sequel Sin City: A Dame to Kill For.
