Earvin "Magic" Johnson is a former professional basketball player and businessman. He won five NBA Championships and three NBA MVP Awards as a member of the Los Angeles Lakers from 1979 to 1991, as well as an Olympic gold medal as a member of the 1992 U.S. men's Olympic basketball team. In 1991, Johnson announced he had HIV. He currently runs Magic Johnson Enterprises and is part owner of the Los Angeles Dodgers and Los Angeles Sparks. In recent years, Johnson has been known for his basketball commentary on Twitter. He recently used the platform to announce the likelihood of Stephen Curry being named the 2021 season MVP.
