Indie band alt-J was formed in 2007 when members Gwil Sainsbury, Joe Newman, Gus Unger-Hamilton and Thom Green met while attending the University of Leeds. Their debut album, An Awesome Wave, was released in 2012 and won the Barclaycard Mercury Prize. Sainsbury left the band in 2014, but alt-J continued to make music, releasing their second album, This Is All Yours, later that same year. It reached No. 1 in the U.K. and No. 4 on the Billboard 200 albums chart. alt-J's latest album, Relaxer, will be released on June 2.
