As this season’s contestants on The Biggest Loser are quickly finding out, the dream of hitting that personal fitness goal is about way, way more than just counting calories or staring at a number on a scale.
The farther our teams travel together on their wellness journey, the more they’re opening up about how it all can pay off down the road. That means they’re already thinking about the big dividends that await them in their everyday lives — you know, the place where the real fun begins.
Daydreaming about all the killer stuff you can’t wait to do when you hit (and maintain!) that wellness target is a great way to remind yourself that fitness is about living well; about feeling good as much as it is about looking good. And if we’re being honest, seeing our team members shed their fears and say what’s really on their minds has given our motivation a boost.
On top of that, it’s just plain awesome to see everyone begin to lean on each other for support by opening up about all those human and relatable reasons why they’re making the journey in the first place. Reaching out and getting positive feedback on all those little fitness goals is a refreshing reminder of just how normal it is to let yourself fantasize a little — or even a lot — about where your dreams can lead.
