This series follows a group of Mexican women born into wealth and accustomed to the finer things who have created families since arriving in the United States. Although now safe in their upscale gated community with the security of American citizenship, the women face a whole new set of challenges that comes with immigrating and becoming “Americanized." Adjusting to life without help and having to clean their own silver spoons is a change of pace for these Fresas. However, they still take weekend trips to Mexico in armored cars, escorted by bodyguards, revealing their lavish lifestyles in Mexico. Away from their families, these women have learned to lean on each other and they have created an enormous network of friends unique to their culture. Never have friendships been so important - but also so quick to turn. There is a constant struggle to remain atop the cutthroat social hierarchy of the Mexican national community. These women bring a brand-new perspective to the general stereotypes of what it means to be an immigrant.
