Some of Telemundo's biggest names graced the Queen of the South season two premiere party in Beverly Hills last week, including El Señor de los Cielos stars Rafael Amaya and Vanessa Villela. Beyond celebrating the premiere of USA Network's adaptation of Arturo Pérez-Reverte's bestselling novel La Reina Del Sur (also made into a hit Telemundo series by the same name), the international talent expressed the importance of having more Latinos in mainstream American television.

At Austin's historic Paramount Theatre Thursday, the first episode of Queen of the South ("Piloto") screened for the opening night event of ATX Fest. Following the screening, the cast and executive producer David Friendly fielded questions hosted by Buzzfeed editor Jarett Wieselman. Among the topics discussed by the international cast was how Queen of the South is staying true to the narcos world.
