The presents have been counted, the chestnuts roasted and the Menorahs lit, but Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns had one last bit of naughtiness to address on the night after Christmas: The yuletide shellacking given to them by Braun Strowman in the closing moments of last week’s Raw. Despite both Rollins and Reigns demanding that Raw Commissioner Stephanie McMahon give them a match with The Gift of Destruction, only The Architect won the Strowman Sweepstakes for the evening by Stephanie’s decree. Reigns, however, would not be left wanting.
They fooled you! They fooled all of you! Whatever your personal thoughts on the elaborate ruse Jeri-KO concocted to both keep the WWE Universal Title on Kevin Owens and have him win the match against Roman Reigns at Roadblock: End of the Line, you have to admire its deviousness: After weeks of seemingly teetering on the verge of implosion, the two best friends played their ace in the hole and came to Raw stronger than ever, with championship hardware still in tow.
With just a few hours to go before tying Demolition’s all-time Tag Team Title record, The New Day pulled out every last trick in the book to extend their reign as Raw Tag Team Champions. They didn’t outlast Cesaro & Sheamus and Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson so much as they outwitted them to secure the victory.
Chris Jericho might have been banned from ringside during Raw’s No Disqualification WWE Universal Championship Match main event, but he still managed to ambush Seth Rollins and help Kevin Owens retain Team Red’s greatest prize. Also on Raw, Goldberg made a jaw-dropping announcement that could put the WCW icon in line for a World Title Match at WrestleMania.

You know what would really be sour? If The New Day was forced to split up. Now, while the W. W. E. World. Tag. Team. Champions. would never do such a thing of their own volition, the upcoming Brand Extension that will split Raw and SmackDown back into two distinctive rosters may mean the decision is out of their hands. That caused no small amount of panic for ya boys, so they took it upon themselves to plead with Shane and Stephanie McMahon to ensure their status as a package deal.

The word “Big” almost feels like an understatement when talking about Big E, but how else do you describe a 290-pound tank of a man who can deadlift a Fiat? “Superhuman” comes to mind, as does “Herculean.” “Big,” though, leaves no question about the type of carnage this beast will bring to WWE.
