Claire Bowden knew Mike Ross back when he was a bike messenger. Mike helped her file a form at her legal internship, and when the two later went on a date, Mike lied that he was a lawyer in order to impress her. Claire’s boss threw Mike’s work away and ran a background check on him -- and then shared the results with Claire.
The two did not cross paths again until a case brought her to the office of Pearson Specter Litt. Recognizing Claire’s name, Mike decided to leave the case in Rachel’s hands -- and Claire, remembering the name Mike Ross, started wondering if it was the same one from her past.
Rachel needed to help protect Mike’s secret and made a deal to benefit one of Claire’s big clients. Unfortunately, the client had just entered the defense contracting business and had to perform a background check on everyone involved in the case. Rachel removed Mike’s name from all of the legal documents, which was a red flag to Claire. She told Rachel that she planned to report Mike, but backed down when Rachel begged her not to.
Mike tracked down Claire to thank her for not turning him in and she warned him not to marry Rachel. It would only be a matter of time before Mike’s secret caught up with him, and he would risk bringing Rachel down too.
Claire knows the truth about Mike and had already threatened to report it to the authorities, but is she actually the one who sold him out? Find out when Suits returns on Jan. 27.
