[Warning: Contains spoilers for Shooter episode 105, "Recon by Fire."]
This week, Bob Lee Swagger found himself camping out with the Tree of Liberty, a militia group planning a violent protest against the government. He traced the bullet used to kill the Ukrainian President to their arms supply, which led to some tense suspense and badass heroics in the episode -- and that’s after some steamy stuff and smooth undercover work. Here, we rank Bob Lee's biggest moments from Shooter 105. Read the full recap here.
5. That Sexy Cabin Scene
Honestly, who saw Cruel Intentions in 1999 and didn't fantasize about being seduced in a romantic cabin in the woods by Ryan Philippe? It’s pretty awesome of Swagger to find ways to still connect with his wife when he’s on the run and presumed dead. Nothing is free and it’s still painful to part, but seeing Philippe and Shantel VanSanten curled up afterwards is enough to get us through the week!
4. Finding the Bullet in the Cop Car
Still presumed dead after faking his own suicide, Swagger had to pose as a mechanic to search the police vehicle where he expected to find the casing for the shot that killed the Ukrainian President. Swagger was right-- the bullet was there, but so was a supervisor who knew that car 00916 wasn’t due for service and definitely didn’t recognize Swagger as one of his mechanics. Swagger’s evasive maneuvers circling the car and fast-talking the supervisor were cool enough to let him escape with the evidence.
3. Saving Johnson’s Life
When Johnson followed Swagger to the Tree of Liberty, that could have been curtains for him. But Swagger’s only out to clear his name. He’s not looking to get anyone else killed, not even corrupt Agent Johnson. Swagger’s idea to use Isaac for target practice gave him just enough time to stall and still let Johnson escape during the shootout.
2. The Tree of Liberty Shoot-Out
No matter how calm Swagger kept things at the Tree of Liberty, you just knew this was going to explode in a shoot-out. Swagger had some great shots here, knocking out the drone, taking out Joey’s tires so he couldn’t escape with the payload, and firing at a branch instead of taking the kill-shot.
1. Investigating The Tree of Liberty
All it took to infiltrate the Tree of Liberty was being reasonable. Swagger calmly approached them and revealed himself. Joey was a little trigger-happy but his older brother (Randy Orton) respected Swagger’s service, despite potential political differences. Too bad they didn't make the bullet, but it's only episode five. Swagger can’t find all the answers just yet.
