USA’s newest drama Queen of the South premieres Tuesday, June 21 at 10/9c.
The series tells the powerful survival story of Teresa Mendoza (Alice Braga, City of God, I Am Legend), a woman forced to run and seek refuge in America after her drug-dealing boyfriend is murdered in Mexico.
In a narco story that promises to be thoroughly badass, Teresa will be forced to team up with an unlikely ally from her past to bring down the leader of the drug trafficking ring that is targeting her.
Adapted from Arturo Pérez-Reverte’s best-selling novel and the Telemundo series La Reina del Sur, Queen of the South also stars Veronica Falcón (Besos de Azúcar) as Camila Vargas, Justina Machado (Six Feet Under) as Brenda Parra, Peter Gadiot (Tut) as James Valdez, Hemky Madera (Weeds) as Pote Galvez, and Gerardo Taracena (Apocalypto) as Cesar “Batman” Guemes.
