[Warning: Season 4 Spoilers Ahead!]
Teresa Mendoza set up business in New Orleans in Queen of the South Season 4. But on the bayou, it's not the rival gangs who bring violence back into Teresa’s world; it's the local politicians. Now we’re just waiting to see how Teresa handles it in the season finale.
First, let’s look back at the most talked about moments from Queen of the South this season!
10. The Gator Farm
After Javier and Boaz killed Bardot -- the rude and racist representative of Judge Lafayette --and Bardot’s friend, they had to get rid of the bodies. There’s no way more New Orleans to make people disappear than to feed them to the gators. However, they had only fed the friend to a hungry gator before a hunter saw them. By the time they took care of the hunter, they still hadn’t disposed of Bardot.
9. Tony and Kelly Anne on the Run
As Tony was on the run from sicarios, Queen of the South fans were on the edge of their seats hoping he’d escape. When Poté finally caught up to Tony to rescue him, he found an unlikely ally at Tony’s side. Kelly Anne Van Awken was protecting Tony. We don’t know who was more surprised -- Poté or the viewers!
8. Poté and Kelly Anne's Kiss
Who would have seen this coming? When Kelly Anne was married to Cole van Awken, Poté was not the biggest fan, but after protecting Tony from sicarios, their closeness formed a bond that erupted into passion! Kelly Anne has been the support Poté needs in crisis -- especially when Tony and Teresa got attacked.
7. Emilia's Demise
Javier played with fire when he started dating Boaz’s girl Emilia. Javier kept her in New Orleans secretly, but once Emilia saw him killing people to cover his tracks, she wanted to return to Mexico. It was too late by then, because Judge Lafayette tied her car to Javier’s crimes and made her pay for it.
6. Teresa Mistakenly Kills Bobby
While Javier and Boaz were on the gator farm, Teresa assumed the worst. Why else would two of her men be missing? Suspecting Marcel Dumas, another local partner, she interrogated Bobby Leroux. Unfortunately, Bobby made a break for it and died in the attempt. When Javier and Boaz showed up, proving Marcel innocent, Teresa had to answer for her unprovoked killing.
5. Teresa Dumps Eddie
When Teresa called it off with Eddie, the jazz musician with a tortured past, he actually thought Teresa dumped him because he caused a friend’s death in a car accident. He has no idea she was only protecting him from her life of crime.
4. Birdie Attacked
Birdie was a legitimate businesswoman, tending bar at Siete Gotas (yes, Siete Gotas was a front for Tersea but Birdie was just a bartender and entrepreneur). Teresa was going to back Birdie’s own bar, but tragically she became collateral damage when Marcel retaliated for the death of Bobby.
3. Teresa Kills Gordo
As a distributor, Gordo caused nothing but trouble for Teresa, taking her bar staff hostage and forcing her to take care of his snitches -- among other things. Once he crossed Oksana, the women teamed up to take out El Gordo once and for all.
2. Poté Takes Out Elias
After a hit on the tanning salon and ambush of his reinforcements, Teresa and Poté found Elias at home, where he was for working with Gordo and hijacking Teresa’s shipment. Elias paid the price, but he wasn’t the one responsible for Teresa’s greatest loss this year...
1. R.I.P. Tony
The most tragic surprise of the season was Tony’s death. Teresa loved having Tony back in her life in NOLA even though he was a rebellious teen. He wanted to become a sicario -- and even attempted to kill Poté -- but was getting ready to go to art school when Teresa gave him his first car. Unfortunately, it was rigged to explode with her inside, but now she lives to avenge the young man's death.
What will happen in the Season 4 of Queen of the South? Make sure you see the finale this Thursday night!
