Warning: Contains spoilers for Eyewitness season1, episode 3
So about last night! If you thought Eyewitness pulled out all the stops last week with Tommy and Tracy’s death and Ryan Kane’s big reveal, then you better buckle up, because this week’s no-holds-barred third outing was the crime thriller’s best episode yet. As emotionally gratifying as it was shocking, Twitter was abuzz with real-time reactions and #Eyewitness was trending from coast to coast. Here are some of the highlights from Eyewitness episode 103, “Bella, Bella, Bella.”
1. As if you needed another reason to watch, J.Lo’s a fan!
First off, audiences were more eager than ever going into last night for the follow-up to Ryan Kane’s real identity. Among these fans? Shades of Blue star and showrunner Adi Hasak’s friend and collaborator Jennifer Lopez! She tweeted her excitement before 103.
Star Warren Chrstie also got in on the hype:
2. “Bella, Bella, Bella” lives up to its namesake.
Now who saw that coming? Ryan and Bella end up reconnecting this episode with fatal consequences for Mithat’s teenage daughter. When Ryan becomes fearful that Helen is closing in on tracking down Bella for questioning, he does what any self-interested serial killer would do: gets rid of her.
But that didn’t come before Ryan and Bella -- who’s so obliviously in love with this man -- consummate their relationship.
3. Camilla and Helen know Sita planted the bomb in Mithat’s.
When a pacifier is found in Mithat’s blown-out apartment, all signs point to Sita. The evidence gives Helen some leverage to further blackmail Camilla for assistance, but Camilla hold out hope that her sister is innocent, even against her better judgment.
The actor behind Sita, Amanda Brugel played coy last night:
Despite her faults, audiences are still connected with the troubled widow.
4. Gabe and Philip share a moment.
It’s impossible not to love Philip, and his stepfather, Gabe, feels it, too! He’s really been trying to be there for Philip as he adjusts to his new family and new school, and it led to a pretty powerful conversation on the dock this week where Philip admitted to feeling the pangs of love. The sweet moment clearly resonated with audiences.
Helen, on the other hand, is still struggling to connect.
5. But this is #Philkas’s show.
Let’s be real -- we love the drama and intrigue of murder and FBI cover-ups, but at the end of the day, we’re coming back for Philip and Lukas. This week saw the two boys escaping to New York when they should have been on a school counseling trip. But the risk was well worth it; Lukas finally came out of his shell after some coaxing and kissed Philip for the first time in public -- and the crowd went wild.
So is it next Sunday yet?
