There’s a whole lot of ‘80s fashion going on in Episode 3 of Dirty John: The Betty Broderick Story, including plenty of “ladies who lunch” and “date night” looks. Even if the future is starting to look less rosy for Betty, she still paints a colorful fashion picture. Check out some of the best looks from last night’s episode.
The Real Teal
Betty takes teal to a whole new level with a puffy-sleeved polka dot blouse with a coordinating striped choker scarf and big matching earrings.
Puff Sleeve Peplum
San Diego’s up-and-coming power couple stake their claim for the best seat in the house, with Betty in a bold fuchsia peplum top and matching purse—and lipstick of course!—and Dan in a well-cut suit.
Betty rises to meet the opulence of the mover-and-shaker restaurant at which she and Dan are intentionally becoming regulars with a gold brocade collarless jacket and round black buttons and sleeves.
Nautical & Nice
For a lunch with the girls, Betty pulls off the sailor collar trend in a sophisticated black and white color palette and her hair swept up into a flawless bun.
Dressed for Beauty Rest
Betty may be dressed for bed in her long lace and silk, yet still demurely cut, nightgown, but she can’t rest until she asks Dan an important question.
Betty attends the “Marriage Encounter” at the church with Dan wearing a Victorian-inspired white sheer leg o’mutton sleeve blouse underneath a red, white and blue plaid shift dress. A multi-stranded pearl necklace completes her look.
Even at the beach, Betty maintains her flair for fashion, with a stylish chain print headscarf, oversized square sunglasses, gold earrings, bracelet and necklace—because, of course jewelry at the beach—and a striped bandeau bikini top.
Betty pays Dan’s office a visit to do some sleuthing in an aqua and white ruched wrap dress, accented with a matching purse and belt.
While Betty makes dinner, she wears a V-neck sweater vest with a repeating graphic print over a burnt orange turtleneck while sporting a new shorter, “flipped back” hairstyle.
Shoulder pads helped define 1980s power dressing and here Betty sports some seriously high ones in a pastel floral top.
Pretty in Pink
Puffy sleeves! Hot pink! Florals! Betty’s favorite fashion trends collide in one totally 80s silk dress.
The visor, a quintessential 1980s trend, may be thought of as a sporting accessory, but here, Betty makes it fashion. Betty even perches a pair of sunglasses atop her visor and enjoys a moment in the sun.
