A recent arrival in Holden, DL Sullivan is the newest reporter at the Holden Tribune. Working to earn his literary stripes like his authorial heroes Ernest Hemingway and Theodore Dreiser, DL suffers under the heavy hand of the Tribune’s editor-in-chief, Burt Babbage. DL longs to tackle meaty, meaningful stories about the struggles of his fellow man, but instead Babbage has him covering carnivals and Hollywood trends. But when the alluring Amelia Davenport inspires him to do more with his pen, DL gradually becomes an integral part of the small-team working to shed light on the injustices in Holden. His writing will quickly become an essential piece of the farmer’s fight, but his willingness to publish the truth will threaten to derail his ambitions and put him in harm’s way.
