Activity on the Antoine Tyler front is calm for the time being, but John still has a few fires to put out. Bridget is continuing to ask questions about what she saw the night of the gang shootings, so he comes up with a new story to try to throw her off, claiming that he has PTSD and gave himself an injection to help with an anxiety attack.
While Bridget clearly has her doubts about his explanation, right now John’s got bigger problems to deal with: Jed has landed in jail for stealing medical records, and John and Gretchen need to come up with a way to get him out and keep him from talking to the authorities about their involvement with him. Gretchen suggests they work with Wes to try to make extra cash to pay for a lawyer for Jed, but John vehemently refuses—that is until Wes shows up at Samaritan and blackmails John into working for him. With no other choice, John and Gretchen manage to get their hands on the chemotherapy drugs Wes wants. But when they meet Wes at the cancer clinic that night to deliver the stolen drugs, John makes a horrifying discovery that pushes him dangerously close to the edge.
Meanwhile, after learning that the protection detail has been pulled from their house, a worried Samantha calls Kyle to find out if he was behind it. When he tells her that the order came from the Gang Task Force and suggests that she call Detective Holden to find out what’s really going on with John, Sam is left wondering if her husband is hiding secrets more secrets than she realized.
