Aliens, Outliers, and explosions – oh my! With just a few more episodes until the season finale, Seattle’s secrets finally start to reveal themselves.
[Warning: Contains episode spoilers for Colony 311]
Burning Question: Who (or what) are these new aliens?
Every other look we’ve had at the Outliers has seen them try – usually in vain – to escape their pods. Now, two more Outliers – a male, 59640, and a female, 35098 – are quickly armed with assault rifles and military gear, then subsequently murdered by an alien life form. Is Earth already under attack by the RAPs’ enemies?
Revelation: Sneaky Snyder is Two Steps Ahead of Kynes, and Harris
Hard to believe that just a few episodes ago we thought Snyder might be remorseful following Charlie’s untimely death. Before Kynes can capitalize on Snyder’s kidnapping, the former L.A. Proxy has Harris brutally murdered and then stages a bombing to make Seattle seem dangerous and Kynes look incompetent.
Burning Question: How Does Katie Think Will Responded to Charlie’s Death?
In a busy episode, there’s still time for a quiet – and subtle – conversation between Katie and Amy. When asked whether there was something Katie should know about her husband, Amy responds ambiguously: “In my line of work, I’m in the proximity of a lot of tragedy,” she says. “Men and women usually handle it differently … Guys like Will tend to be more action-oriented.” Katie looks hurt, but she’s interrupted before she can really ask anything more.
Burning Question: What is “Project Phoenix”?
A frustrated Kynes decides it’s time to stop playing games with Snyder, Helena and the IGA. He tells a subordinate to “send an encrypted SMS to everyone in Project Phoenix. Let them know we’ve just gone live.” Shortly afterwards, the internet, phone lines, and Seattle tracking system all go dead, and Kynes is nowhere to be found. Where did he go, and what does he have in store?
Revelation: Kynes Selected the Population of Seattle for “Human Resistance”
A Resistance member named Adam Ford gathers Outliers – including Broussard and Will – for a rousing speech, and some insights into what’s really going on in Seattle. Kynes selected the population of Seattle as “the ground zero for the reboot of civilization,” with the brightest minds and the toughest warriors making up “the real human resistance.”
Revelation: Helena Goldwyn is a former Hollywood exec!
Little was known about Goldwyn’s pre-Occupation life, but this week we learn that she was a “low-level Hollywood executive” before the Arrival. Now, her joke about Alan Snyder being “the most powerful man in Hollywood” back in Season 2 takes on a new meaning!
