We really thought we’d found all the reasons to love Josh Holloway. From his debut in Aerosmith’s “Cryin’” video to his bad boy Sawyer on Lost to his loyal husband and father Will Bowman on Colony, everything about Josh Holloway is great. He is truly the gift that keeps on giving because here’s one more.
With Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom coming to theaters this week, we couldn’t help but notice the similarities between Holloway and Jurassic World hero Chris Pratt. Here are all the ways Josh Holloway is the Chris Pratt of Colony. Don’t believe us? See for yourself when Fallen Kingdom opens June 21!
1. They always say the right thing.
Chris Pratt always has the best lines in any of his movies. In Jurassic World, he tells off dino-DNA warmongers like Hoskins (Vincent D’Onofrio) with zingers like, “How Long’s Ingen been practicing that pitch?”
Colony is less of a laughing matter, but how many times has Will (Holloway) almost been caught? Any time his collaborator overlords get suspicious, Will says just enough to keep them off his tail!
2. They do what’s right even when it’s “wrong.”
Owen (Pratt) works for Jurassic World but his first allegiance is to the dinosaurs. So when his bosses try to put the dinosaurs at risk, he says no. He even punches Hoskins in the face.
Will protects his family and members of the Resistance at his own risk. For instance, when he sees people during in a Homeland Security raid, he lets them go before his bosses find them.
3. They both think on their feet.
There’s no textbook for what to do when dinosaurs break loose and start eating people, so Owen has to think on his feet. He saves a trainer who falls in the habitat. During an Indominus Rex rampage, he thinks to cover himself with brake fluid so the dinosaur can’t smell him.
Living through an alien invasion requires a lot of quick thinking too. Whether he’s talking his way through a checkpoint or manipulating the drones to protect his family, Will’s definitely the guy you want in a crisis!
4. They both have a way with nature.
Owen has managed to train raptors to follow his commands. The bigger dinosaurs aren’t that agreeable, but he can still maneuver around a T-rex.
There isn’t much room for pets on occupied Earth, but when the Bowmans escape and go full Swiss Family Robinson, Will shows off that he’s fly-fisherman extraordinaire!
5. They can both read the signs.
Owen’s not just an expert dinosaur tracker. He can track kids too. When looking for Claire’s nephews, he can see their footprints outside their crashed gyrosphere.
Will tracked Charlie all the way to Santa Monica bloc. Not too shabby.
6. They’re both ladies men!
The chemistry between Pratt and Howard was palpable last time we saw them. Let’s hope they’re still a hot item when Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom picks up.
Will has remained passionate about his wife Katie (Sarah Wayne Callies) through all their intergalactic drama. Somehow these two manage to find some “alone time” – even in the face of an alien-imposed regime!
Be sure to watch Colony Wednesday nights at 10pm on USA and don’t miss Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, opening this week at theaters everywhere!
