Chrisley Knows Best is back this week, so we turned to the Patriarch of Perfection himself, Todd Chrisley, to understand what life is like, four seasons in -- now that the kids are a little older and the fans are a lot bolder. Here’s what we learned.
There’s One Particular Todd-ism That Trumps All Others
Todd’s wealth of one-liners is on display in every episode of CKB, but when it comes to the most popular? “If I have heard one time in New York City with me walking down the street, someone yell out, ‘Class, not ass!’ I've heard it a million times.”
The Fans Feel More Familiar With the Chrisleys Than Ever
“People literally come up to me in restaurants and sit down in the booth with me. They have no problem with that. They come up to me and talk to me about their problems. They come up and ask me if I ever had to deal with a certain situation with one of my kids.”
The nice thing about Todd? He takes the time to answer!
Fans Are Doing the Todd… in Public!
“I got a video today from a woman in Virginia who was in the middle of the supermarket, and someone was videoing her, and she turned around, and she was like, ‘I'm going to do the Todd!’ Then she starts dancing. I'm like, "Oh my gosh. I cannot believe this!”
(Not sure how to Do the Todd? This video should help.)
Sometimes the Fan Stuff Is Way More Sweet Than Silly
“There was a woman who came over when I was leaving for dinner last night, and I was on the phone. She goes up to [my publicist] and asks if I'd take a picture with her. I was still on the phone, but that woman, when I hung the phone up, she waited, and so I took the picture with her. She said, ‘You have no idea. I just broke up with my boyfriend of three years today." She said, "Seeing you has restored my faith.’”
Parents Love, Love, Love Savannah
“Parents literally send Savannah messages saying it's the only show that they watch as a family, and that they allow their daughters to watch because she's such a positive role model, and that she's got a lot of people looking up to her. Now, I will say that that is a blessing that I have people saying that about my daughter. I will also say that is a huge burden for an 18-year-old girl to have to carry 24 hours a day, seven days a week.”
Chase Has a Tattoo Mishap of Biblical Proportions
“We have a tattoo with Chase this season. It's John 3:16, the Bible verse. That's what his selling point for us was when Julie and I finally found out about it. My response to him was, ‘I'm going to sue the private Christian school that you went to for the last 12 years of your life because if your dumbass didn't learn in those 12 years to the fact that you had to put it on your body, that's ridiculous.”
Grayson Is Basically a Mini Todd
“My mother says every day, ‘I'm glad you had Grayson, because now you're reliving what I lived’... He’s got a very quick wit, and he's fully aware of his surroundings and of what's going on. He's also very opinionated. I don't know where that came from? But Grayson's on his game this season.”
Family Always Comes First, No Matter What
“As much as I love doing the show, and as much as I love the opportunity that the show has opened for us, none of that is worth more to me than my children. I've told [my family] from very early on when we started this process, that we're going to be together after this show is over -- the show, the notoriety, and the fame will not be what's important. We make sure that the kids know what the priorities are.”
Be sure to tune in when Chrisley Knows Best returns for season four, Tuesday, Mar. 8 at 10 pm/9c. on USA Network. Catch up here!
