USA Network showcased the world premiere of its new anthology drama series Briarpatch at the 2019 Toronto International Film Festival on Saturday. The screening included a Q&A with star Rosario Dawson, plus showrunner and executive producer Andy Greenwald, and director Ana Lily Amirpour.
Briarpatch is from executive producer Sam Esmail (Mr. Robot, Homecoming) and follows Allegra Dill (Dawson), a dogged investigator returning to her border-town Texas home after her sister is murdered. What begins as a search for a killer turns into an all-consuming fight to bring her corrupt hometown to its knees. The series will premiere on USA Network in 2020!
