MAYYAS

Bio

The Mayyas is an all-female alternative dance crew, founded by choreographer Nadim Cherfan, consisting of 70 Lebanese women of different ages. Their main message is female empowerment. Building a career in Lebanon has been difficult, especially for dancers, but Nadim was inspired by previous "AGT" contestant Nightbirde to persevere. Nightbirde said in her audition, "You can't wait until life isn't hard anymore before you decide to be happy." The Mayyas' unique performance received a Golden Buzzer from Sofia Vergara.
