Who is Maura Higgins?
Maura Higgins is a reality television star from Longford, Ireland. She is a former Love Island U.K. contestant and has since appeared on other shows like Dancing on Ice, Cooking with the Stars, and Celebrity Juice. Higgins studied cosmetology and worked in a salon before switching gears and working for Monster Energy. She went viral in 2018 with a video of her drifting a car for Monster Energy in Abu Dhabi to inspire women to drive. She is expected to make her acting debut in a film called The Spin that is slated to be released in Spring 2024.
In July, Higgins was announced as the social media ambassador for the first season of Love Island Games. In this role, Higgins provides behind-the-scenes gossip and interacts with fans on social media. She also hosts challenges and shares her thoughts on the contestants' romances.
What is Maura’s connection to Curtis Pritchard?
Maura is best known for her appearance on the fifth season of the British reality dating series Love Island, as a bombshell. She quickly became a fan favorite and runner-up in 2019 with her now ex, Curtis Pritchard.
Talk about awkward, because as the social ambassador, Higgins had to conduct all the islander exit interviews, including the one with her former lover Curtis. “I think there might have been moments where I wasn’t too polite, but I think I made it more of a joke," Higgins said in a radio interview. The pair dated for eight months and broke up after cheating allegations.
While on Love Island Games, Curtis was coupled up with Lisa Celander, however, he did spend a lot of time mingling with the other women. During the exit interview, Maura asked him why he did not couple up with Justine despite there being “chemistry.” Curtis responded that he “didn’t follow my balls.” Maura quipped: “He still has no balls, guys.”
They hugged it out and it seemed like maybe all could be forgiven? But who's to say?
Who is Maura Higgins dating?
Things are now Instagram official, as her new boyfriend, stunt double actor Bobby Holland Hanton, confirmed their romance earlier this year. He has filled in as a stunt double for actors Chris Hemsworth and Daniel Craig. This marks her first relationship since her 2021 split from Strictly dance pro Giovanni Pernice. She previously dated her fellow Love Island star Chris Taylor and was rumored to have dated MK Dons star Connor Wickman, as well as The Only Way is Essex star Joey Essex.
