Emmy winner Anthony Hemingway serves as a director and executive producer for USA’s new series THE PURGE.

Hailed as one of the most preeminent African American directors and one of television’s go-to visionaries, Hemingway is widely recognized for the diverse and prestigious list of credits to his name. Prior to THE PURGE, Hemingway directed and executive produced “Unsolved: The Murders of Tupac and The Notorious B.I.G.,” The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story” and served as director and executive producer for period drama “Underground.” He has been in constant demand since his debut on “The Wire” and has since directed episodes of some of the hottest shows on both network and cable television, including SYFY’s “Battlestar Galactica,” “Power,” “Empire,” “ER,” “The Newsroom,” “Orange is the New Black,” “American Horror Story” and “Shameless,” as well as his feature debut with blockbuster film “Red Tails.”

Hemingway received the 2017 AAFCA Horizon Award and has garnered Emmy, A Golden Globe, PGA, NAACP and BAFTA TV Awards for his work on “The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story.”
