William Baldwin (Backdraft, Sliver, Gossip Girl) has been cast in The Purge TV series, the newest chapter from the blockbuster franchise about 12 hours of utter lawlessness, coming to USA Network!
Baldwin will play the recurring role of Don Ryker, the handsome, confident, and powerful managing partner at an investment firm. Don leads his team with alacrity and intelligence and appears to be a big supporter of his employee Jane (Amanda Wallen, The Leftovers), but may, in fact, be standing in the way of her career advancement. Jane, a dedicated professional who is convinced that she’s hit a glass ceiling at her firm, hires a Purge-assassin. Don also harbors a Purge Night secret.
From indie studio Blumhouse Television (HBO’s The Normal Heart and The Jinx) and Universal Cable Productions (USA Network’s Mr. Robot and The Sinner), The Purge, which will air on USA Network and SYFY, will be executive produced by the film franchise creator James DeMonaco, and led by Jason Blum. Additionally, the entire team behind the film franchise is on board to executive produce: Michael Bay with Brad Fuller and Andrew Form under the Platinum Dunes banner and Sebastien K. Lemercier. Thomas Kelly serves as executive producer/showrunner of the series.
Anthony Hemingway (USA’s Unsolved: The Murders of Tupac and The Notorious B.I.G.) will direct the premiere episode. In addition to Warren, Colin Woodell (Unsane), Hannah Anderson (New Mutants), Lee Tergesen (OZ), Gabriel Chavarria (East Los High), and Jessica Garza (Six) lead the cast as series regulars.
