Penelope demonstrates her selflessness once again when she volunteers to go up to the Carnival of Flesh auctioneer’s block before the old man who she has met in the “martyr” enclosure. But he pleads her to save herself—”Don’t worry about me. I’ve lived!” he tells her before guards whisk him away to meet his fate.
Rick confronts Lila at the Stanton mansion
Rick thinks Lila is a “spoiled trust fund brat” who is out to ruin his marriage. Lila thinks Rick can’t salvage his marriage without her. Jenna, the apple of their respective eyes, can only look on as they exchange savage verbal blows at the NFFA soiree.
