Tension was high as the fight for Mike’s future kicked off in earnest this week. Anita Gibbs remained an unshakable adversary as she worked the Pearson, Specter, Litt team both inside and outside the courtroom. Harvey and Mike managed to make some moves of their own, but was it enough? Watch the big moments from this week’s episode, “Self Defense,” to find out! [Warning: Contains major episode spoilers!]
WORDS CUT DEEP
Harvey and Mike face off in a mock trial to determine who will take the lead in Mike’s defense. You can bet it’s a fight that neither man wants to lose, and they both resort to questionable tactics to get the upper hand. And when Harvey gets Rachel on the stand, things begin to get personal.
PUNCH FOR PUNCH
Anita Gibbs calls Trevor as her first witness, and the aggressive U.S. Attorney wastes no time using Mike’s old friend to play rope-a-dope with the defense. Team Ross starts to look wobbly, but Harvey didn’t get to where he is by turning tail, and he soon uses Trevor’s own words against him to land some haymakers of his own and even the score.
DONNA ON THE HOT SEAT
Called to the stand before any of her Pearson, Specter, Litt colleagues have appeared, Donna must set the tone and swear that Mike is a Harvard lawyer. Will she toe the line Jessica has drawn? “Red” has always been cool under pressure but you have to be ice cold to lie in open court, especially when facing down an adversary as tenacious as Anita Gibbs.
The first day of trial is over, and Mike is feeling pretty damn good about his odds after Jimmy’s surprise appearance. But Harvey doesn’t share his bullish outlook, and he’s got something he needs to tell Mike…they’re gonna need a drink for this.
BACKED INTO A CORNER?
Gibbs has already managed to get into Louis’s head, and now she swoops in for the kill. With Mike’s trial off to a rocky start, will she convince Louis to cut a deal to save himself? Stay strong, Louis!
