Your favorite lawyers were up to their necks in it this week, Suitors. Anita Gibbs put Rachel in the hot seat, Louis had to swallow his pride to protect the firm, and that was only the beginning. Check out the moments that brought the drama on this week’s episode, “God’s Green Earth.”
THE CARROT OR THE STICK
Anita Gibbs takes Rachel to her favorite cafe and tells her about today’s special -- a deal that would let Rachel and Mike lead their dream life as working lawyers. All she has to do is give up Harvey and Jessica. But when Rachel tells Anita that she’s not interested in what she’s serving, the U.S. Attorney makes it clear that things will get ugly if Rachel doesn’t play ball. So much for being wined and dined!
QUID PRO QUO
Tasked with poaching an entire department from a rival firm, Jack winds up being the one wooed by a big money offer from the competition. He goes to Jessica to let her know that he won’t be jumping ship -- as long as she’ll consider him for managing partner one day. Can these two ever take each other at their word? Only time will tell, but for now, Jack offers something that may go a long way to repairing their trust.
Harvey and Scottie’s star-crossed relationship has been one of the great casualties of Mike’s big secret, and Mike adds insult to injury by trying to get her involved in a personal attack on Anita Gibbs. Scottie shows up to rip Harvey a new one because she (mistakenly) believes he put his protégé up to it, so Harvey decides to open up about his therapy. Is there still hope for these two?
A TASTE OF BITTER MEDICINE
Having failed to save the Associate program from the fallout of Mike’s case, Louis makes the last move he has available to him to secure the firm’s future: he heads to Harvard to convince Sheila to leave the country so she can’t testify against Mike. When Sheila won’t listen to reason, Louis gives her a taste of what she’ll be in for on the stand and things get brutal.
WHO WILL LEAD?
Harvey and Mike get Gibbs to back off Rachel and secure some much needed breathing room, but the fight with the aggressive U.S. Attorney has got Mike rethinking his survival strategy -- namely, who should be taking lead on the case. Does Mike think he’s better than Harvey? The two go toe-to-toe over the future of Mike’s defense, but when Donna walks in with another bit of bad news, the only thing that is certain is that the heat on this case has been cranked to 11.
