[Warning: Contains spoilers from the last season of Suits]
Mike Ross faced the harsh reality of his plea bargain when, in the final frames of Suits season five, Harvey Specter dropped him off at the gate of Danbury Penitentiary. So what happens next? Will Mike get out early on good behavior? Will the firm find a way to overturn the ruling? Will he just sit in the clink for the rest of Suits eternity, eventually becoming the prison librarian? Maybe someone will bust him out. We seriously have no idea.
But one thing’s for sure -- Meghan Markle is probably your best bet from the cast of Suits to assist with a prison break in real life, according to Patrick J. Adams (Mike) and Sarah Rafferty (Donna) who attended the Suits premiere on Thursday night.
“Rick Hoffman would try, but I don’t know that he would succeed,” Adams told USA Network in an exclusive interview. “It would probably take some clever mastermind -- Meghan would probably be the only one smart enough to pull that off.”
“Meghan is so freaking smart that she would figure out something other than slipping a shiv in a cake,” agreed Rafferty. “She would have some amazing thing that would work.” Who knew Markle had such MacGyver-esque abilities?
The real-life Rachel Zane would also keep your prison cell nice and organized if you ended up bunking together. “Meghan would keep it real clean,” Adams said when we asked him who on the cast would be the best cell mate.
Rafferty thought for a moment and landed on her longtime friend Gabriel Macht.
“We were really good roommates once,” Rafferty explained. “He’s super-funny and silly and we laugh. If I were going to be in prison, I think he’d keep it upbeat. He’s also really good friends with my husband and I’m really good friends with his wife -- so if I wanted to talk about how much I miss my husband, he would understand, and he would miss him too.”
USA also asked the Suits stars which member of the cast would be the least likely to answer your collect call from the Big House.
“Rick Hoffman,” Adams answered without hesitation. “He won’t answer the phone ever.”
What will happen to Mike this season? So many questions to be answered when Suits returns for season six on Wednesday, July 13, at 9/8c on USA!
