She's Donna and she's awesome. Every Suits fan knows that without Donna Paulsen, there'd be no Pearson, Specter, Litt -- and that's to say nothing of the times she's saved the day for her work family on a personal level. Here are just a few memorable moments, big and small, when Donna came to the rescue, simply by being Donna.
That time she scored the Plaza Hotel
Remember when Rachel wanted nothing more than to host her dream wedding at the Plaza Hotel on her birthday? Easier said than done at one of Manhattan's most posh and exclusive venues. That is, unless you're Donna and you have dirt on the person who's holding your special date. Thanks to her intel in episode 506, Mike was able to finagle the rest and, while the wedding never came to pass, it wasn't for lack of Donna's trying!
That time she worked over Stu for bullying Louis
Seriously, who does this guy think he is? When Stu Buzzini, an obnoxious new investment banker on the floor, starts messing with Louis in episode 603, there's only one person in the office fit to take him to task. That's right -- Red. Something tells us Stu won't be touching anyone's prunies anytime soon.
That time she protected Mike's secret from a Harvard know-it-all
Listen, you can argue the merits of whether or not Mike should have lied for as long as he did about being a lawyer, but Donna is fiercely loyal to her firm no matter what the issue is. So when Maria Monroe -- a first-year associate from Harvard Law who pops up in episode 211 -- threatens the safety of Mike's secret, Donna flags it to Harvey immediately. Had she not thought a few steps ahead, Mike would have been exposed by Louis's new grad. Good work, Donna!
That time she convinced Jessica to do the right thing
Remember when Louis thought he was finally moving up in the ranks and then Jeff Malone dropped in, spoiling his chances of becoming a partner? It was Donna who talked Jessica into giving Louis that sweet, sweet corner office in episode 402 (and, of course, calling out Jessica for sleeping with Jeff strengthened the argument). The reveal of his new digs was enough to bring Louis to tears! And, admit it: you got a little misty-eyed yourself.
That time she made things right between Mike and Harvey
We know what you're thinking... 'which time?' Yes, Mike and Harvey have had their share of challenges, but in episode 407, their bad blood was at an all-time boil. Guess who convinced Harvey to make amends after Mike was fired from Sitwell Investment Group? And she did it with this magic line: "Men are idiots and they would rather be alone and miserable than ever run the risk of being accused of needing someone." What choice did Harvey have but to make things right after that?
That time she tracked down everybody's address
Boy, did things look dire for the gang the night Mike was sent away in episode 601. And, on top of that, the firm was slapped with a YUGE lawsuit. When it was time to spring into action, Donna -- using Donna-levels of admin power -- was able to get the addresses of all the P.S.L. partners who jumped ship so Louis, Jessica, and Harvey could sue them for a breach of contract before it was too late!
That time she saved Scottie's hiney
Has there always been a little rivalry between Donna and Scottie? Sure. But that wasn't going to prevent Donna from saving the day in episode 310 when her ex-beau Stephen Hunter was going to sell out Scottie in order to get himself out of jail. So, how did Donna do it? A little prison visitation to Hunter led to a taped confession that wasn't protected under attorney–client privilege! Genius!
That time she owned the fax machine
What can we say? Donna's the fax machine whisperer!
