Lady and the Tramp Perhaps the most beloved dog film of all time. Premiered on June 16, 1955 in Chicago, Illinois, the film would be re-released in the U.S. in 1962, 1980 and 1986. In early versions of the script, Tramp was called Homer, then Rags and then Bozo.

Snow Dogs Academy Award winner Cuba Gooding, Jr. plays a Miami dentist who inherits a team of Siberian Husky sled dogs. An unlikely hit, Snow Dogs generated over $80 million at the U.S. box office, good for 32nd place in 2002.
 
Turner & Hooch Tom Hanks and a Dogue de Bordeaux named Hooch team up to solve the murder of Hooch's former owner. Henry Winkler was originally slated to direct, but conflicted with Hanks and backed out.
 
The Ugly Dachsund A prize dachshund, Danke, is having pups when her owner Jim is talked into allowing a Great Dane, Brutus, to be raised by the dachshund.
 
Where the Red Fern Grows A remake of the 1974 film by the same name, based on a true story of the same name. The film was released on May 3, 2003 at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York City.
 
Zeus and Roxanne Mary Beth (Kathleen Quinlan) plays a marine biologist tracking a dolphin named Roxanne. Her world is shaken up by a stowaway Portuguese Podengos named Zeus, who can curiously communicate with the dolphin.
