Tracy Austin
Women's Lead Analyst
Tracy Austin joined USA Sports in 1991 as the women's tennis lead
analyst. A Hall-of-Famer and former US Open champion, she is among one
of sports television's most insightful analysts of professional tennis.
The two-time US Open champion returns for her 14th season as women's
lead analyst for USA Network's coverage of the US Open Tennis
Championships. Austin has also covered the French Open on USA Network
(1995-2000).
As one of the tour's top female players, Austin won the US Open women's
singles championship in 1979 at the age of 16, becoming the youngest
player ever to do so. Two years later, Austin captured her second US
Open title with a victory over Martina Navratilova in 1981. Austin
compiled 29 career singles titles in a professional career that spanned
1979-1994. She was voted Associated Press Athlete of the Year in 1979
and 1981, and was named WTA Player of the Year in 1980. In 1992, at 29
years, seven months, Tracy became the youngest inductee into the
International Tennis Hall of Fame.
Austin was born in Palos Verdes Peninsula, California on December 12,
1962. She currently resides in Rolling Hills, California with her
husband, Scott, and their three young sons.
