David Toms
In 2005, David Toms went over the $3-million mark for the fourth time in his 13 years on the PGA Tour. Toms earned his 11th career PGA Tour victory with a 6-and-5 win over Chris DiMarco in the final of the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship. The 6-and-5 win marked the largest margin of victory in tournament history and was his fourth Top-10 in six starts at the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship. Defeated Richard Green, Mark Hensby, Phil Mickelson, Adam Scott and Ian Poulter on the way to the finals.
With the $1.3 million paycheck, Toms surpassed Nick Price for sixth all-time on the PGA Tour earnings list with more than $20 million. Toms is one of five players with at least one victory in each of the last three seasons.
In 2003, Toms created the David Toms Foundation to help underprivileged, abused and abandoned children through funding programs that are designed to enhance a child's character, self-esteem and career possibilities. The Foundation assisted those displaced by Hurricane Katrina, raising more than $1 million.
