In an age of awe-inspiring drives from the tee, Fred Funk can still be found atop the leaderboard thanks to his pinpoint accuracy. The 49-year-old Funk earned a career-best $2,830,046 in 2005 and won in back-to-back seasons for the first time since 1995-96. Funk became the oldest winner of The Players Championship, defeating Tom Lehman, Scott Verplank and Luke Donald by a stroke.
Funk was the golf coach at University of Maryland from 1982 through 1988 and is also one of the first Tour players to have LASIK surgery.
