JENNIE FINCH, SOFTBALL

The USA Softball Women's National Team is one of only two women's sports to capture three consecutive gold medals at the Olympic Games since 1996. The U.S. women have also won eight World Championship titles including the last six consecutive.

In Athens at the 2004 Olympic Games, the U.S. Women’s National Team was anointed as the "Real Dream Team" by Sports Illustrated. The performance by the U.S. Olympic Softball Team will go down in history as one of the most dominant ever as the team went a perfect 9-0 with eight consecutive shutouts, while outscoring their opponents 51-1.

In 2006, the sport of softball was dealt a huge disappointment as the International Olympic Committee (IOC) voted to remove the sport of softball from the Olympics starting in 2012. With that decision serving as a backdrop for the 2008 Beijing Olympics, Team USA is looking to go out with a bang and solidify their place as one of the most dominant team sports ever in Olympic play.
