FREDDY ADU, MEN'S SOCCER
The U.S. Men's Soccer team has a tough draw in the Beijing Olympics, landing in the difficult Group B. The squad will open up against Japan on August 7 before facing the Netherlands on August 10, with both games taking place at the Olympic Sports Center Stadium in Tianjin. The team will then travel to Worker’s Stadium in Beijing to conclude group play against 1996 gold medalist and 2005 Under-20 World Cup champion Nigeria on August 13.
Eight different leagues from around the world are represented on the U.S. roster, including Major League Soccer, which sends 10 players from six different teams. With a talented team of veterans and young athletes, including phenom Freddy Adu, Team USA is hoping to break through and capture an elusive medal in men's soccer.
