In episode 106 Shooter "Killing Zone," we me Rathford O’Brien, played by William Fichtner, who provided a lot of this week’s badassery. O’Brien is the gunsmith who supplied the red bullets Tree of Liberty was using, just like the one used to kill the Ukrainian President. Of course, Bob Lee Swagger (Ryan Phillippe) found out it wasn’t exactly O’Brien’s bullet the shooter used either, but this was one visit worth making. Here are the top moments from "Killing Zone," ranked! (And read the full recap here).
5. Swagger Family Picnic
The Swaggers stole some time to have a family picnic with Julie (Shantel VanSanten) and Mary (Lexy Kolker). Seeing Swagger and his daughter is priceless, especially with a pretty flower in his ear. And Shooter is not afraid to show that it is Swagger's heart that makes him the badass Marine. Mary is his heart and it is tragic that he has to cut these secret meetings off for their safety.
4. Memphis Interrogating Payne
Agent Memphis (Cynthia Adlai-Robinson) continues to show she’s no pushover. Her interrogation of Jack Payne (Eddie McClintock) took the whole episode but she never wavered. From showing him crime scene photos and nicking his neck to a full psychological profile, Memphis had Payne’s number. Even though he’s free, she’s onto him.
3. Hillside Fight
This fight was so good, we got to see it twice. It opens the episode before the titles, and we later see that these are two of the guys sieging O’Brien’s hideout. Two guys are no match for Bob Lee Swagger, as he takes them out while all three roll down the hill.
2. Booby Traps In the Woods
Who isn't a sucker for some good old-fashioned booby traps? These are the kinds of traps young kids always dreamed of being able to make when they play in the woods, but O’Brien can do it for real. One attacker got a faceful of spikes, another an arrow in the chest. The rest, Swagger and O’Brien could handle with their shots. 1. Sniper Training
You’re never too old to learn something new, and Swagger got some good lessons from O’Brien. Testing his special bullets, O’Brien gave Swagger a lot of guff for missing shots by so much. This banter between two expert marksmen on the same team gave us a glimpse inside the elite world of snipers. See for yourself -- but be forewarned: this clip features strong language.
