Dead Zone fans!
How's your summer going so far? Great, I hope. Be sure to watch an encore airing of our latest TDZ episode, "Articles of Faith," if you weren't able to see it on Sunday. We're pretty proud of the way it challenges everyone's assumptions and preconceptions ... including Johnny's!
Next up: "Inside Man," written by our executive consultant Karl Schaefer. Karl was our showrunner for Season 3, as well as for the extra "Sexy Summer Six" episodes of Season 2. He also wrote both of the episodes last season with Alex Sinclair -- our "visiting female psychic" -- and we were fortunate to be able to recruit him to write this episode ... which represents a nice departure from his proclivity for writing romance.
On July 16, Johnny finds himself posing as the "Inside Man" in a museum heist in order to keep the ill-conceived job from falling apart and culminating in the tragic violence his visions portend. It's not often we get to see Johnny in the guise of someone living on the wrong side of the law ... it makes us glad that he uses his gift to do good!
This episode also represents a special turn for Reverend Purdy who is torn between what is good for his cause and what is right for a small group of people seeking appropriate restitution. Parental realities, too, are showcased as -- again -- we touch on the underlying father-and-son theme that runs throughout Seasons 4 and 5 by having Walt work against the clock to try to save his son.
Believe it or not, "Inside Man" was not shot on location. We built the entire museum interior as a set! Our Design team actually studied the blueprints of major museums, including the Louvre in Paris. Production had to deal with significant safety issues because of the exploding glass on set, and our Practical Effects department had to devise innovative ways to keep the cast and crew safe while making this a camera-sensational episode.
Have a great rest of the week.
Oh, yes ... and don't forget to watch USA Network this Sunday, July 16 at 10/9C.
