Hello, DEAD ZONE Sisters and Brothers:
Life is good. Thanks to you.
This week, our brand new season got off to a terrific start with the premiere of Season Five and the release of The Dead Zone Season Four DVD Box Set (now in stores.)
I sure hope you were able to catch our Season Five premiere episode "Forbidden Fruit." If not, check out the Schedule section of the USA Network website for all The Dead Zone encore performances.
This week's upcoming episode (airing June 25) is called "Independence Day" and is written by Adam Targum. At the helm is our very own cast member Chris Bruno, sans his Walt Bannerman uniform. The episode also guest stars Chris's own brother Dylan.
"Independence Day": Johnny and Bruce find themselves stuck in gridlock traffic during a heat wave on their way to a July 4th celebration. But Johnny has little reason to celebrate: everything he touches shows him visions of death ... for Bruce and for several of his fellow travelers! Trapped on the road with nowhere to go, will Johnny be able to save the day?
Talk about production logistics ... we had to commandeer an entire highway on Vancouver Island for an entire week! There was a plethora of vehicles -– trucks, vans, motorcycles, cars, boat-toting trailers, etc. -– all carrying hundreds of extras playing our unlucky vacationers stuck on this hot and steamy Fourth of July journey.
It's unbelievable what it took to mount this production. All of our equipment, crew personnel and cast had to be carted over to the island on ferries from the mainland! But the end result was worth the effort: be sure to admire the spectacular crane shots at the beginning of the episode, all designed by Chris.
See you on SUNDAY, JUNE 25 at 10/9C on USA Network,
