Welcome back.

On Sunday, June 18 at 10/9C, a brand new season of The Dead Zone will premiere on USA Network. Can you believe this will mark the Fifth Season of the series ... thanks to you, our fans!!!

Hey, before I get into the goodies we have in store for JS this summer (and I cannot wait to tell you about them), let me put to bed some rumors out there about this being our last season.

Nothing could be further from the truth. Last season, you made DZ among the highest-rated shows in cable. As long as you show up each week and keep watching (and while you're at it, please tell your friends and family to do the same), DZ will continue to thrive!

Of the 11 brand new episodes we have produced for you this season, here is just a sampling of what to expect: cast members making their directorial debuts, phenomenal guest stars including Don S. Davis, Deedee Pfeiffer, Dylan Bruno and Martin Donovan, an exciting season of stories that have twists and turns to keep you guessing -- including one very special ripped-from-the-headlines episode -- as well as extraordinary cinematography, production design and envelope-pushing visual effects.

You will see Johnny learn more about his gift and his family's history, Bruce defying a near-death experience, a profound change in store for the Bannermans, and Congressman Greg Stillson's exponential growth in power and influence under the watchful eye of the enigmatic Malcolm Janus.

We launch our season with our premiere episode, entitled "Forbidden Fruit", written by Loren Segan and Christina Lynch, with DZ co-creator Shawn Piller at the helm.

The episode will open with Johnny trying to convince Stillson's fiancée, Miranda Ellis, not to sacrifice her life to appease her father's political ambitions. What will she decide? Just when you think you have the answer figured out ... well, I give you this clue, all isn't what it appears to be.

Be sure to keep an eye on this website. USA Network has plenty of updates and new features planned, and I'll be writing in on a weekly basis once the season is under way, along with blog entries from the writer of each episode, the occasional cast member or director, and even the characters themselves.

And to top this ... joining its First, Second and Third Season compilation cousins will be the Fourth Season DVD box set that hits the street on June 13, the Tuesday before the Season Five Premiere. Produced by Robert Chynoweth, this box set is stunning. Besides the full complement of episodes, the DVD set contains a tribute to DZ creator Michael Piller, deleted scenes, a production design featurette and two audio commentaries with Anthony Michael Hall.
