HELLO DOLLY FANTASY

The only musical number of the fantasies, this was the most expensive and most challenging fantasy for Producer Steve Sassen, and for those reasons also his favorite. No expense was spared when it came to music, choreography and costumes, which all had to be made. This was one of the most elaborate costumes made for
Debra Messing’s character Molly, made entirely out of silk and lace and complete with wig and false eyelashes

Make Up Artist Liani Thompson who had her busiest day on set with all cast and their mutton chops, says this is still her favorite fantasy despite the song sticking in her head for 2 weeks afterwards.

There’s no doubt
Debra Messing was
Carol Channing for this scene, she even sang, as did fellow cast members
Judy Davis,
Chris Diamantopoulos,
David Alan Basche,
Reggie Austin and
Danielle Nicolet.
Chris Diamantopoulos asked Executive Producers if he should sing like Rodney or like Chris. Everyone has a “Broadway Voice” in their fantasies; it just so happens that Chris has one in real life too.
