Debra Messing played 8 male characters and 11 female. The Deer Hunter Fantasy is another example of
Debra Messing’s remarkable talent, channeling Christopher Walken’s performance perfectly.
With so many male characters in the fantasies, Executive Producers
Sara Parriott and
Josann McGibbon pondered the question, should Debra play the characters as a man or as Molly playing the characters. They decided on Molly playing the characters and Debra rose to the challenge, not only transforming into the characters she was portraying, but doing it through the vehicle of her character Molly Kagan.
