BODY HEAT FANTASY

In trying to create the sound design for this fantasy, editors found it a challenge to hear the music in the actual Body Heat scene because the wind chimes were so loud.  This led the composers to use wind chimes as a motif for the sound track, making them even louder and more prominent in the parody than the original.  Sound Editor Steve Griffen says the effect heightens the parody, taking to a sonic level.

Smashing the glass sliding door was a technical operation.  A special glass designed to shatter and crumble, called tempered glass was use.  It was rigged with squibs, small explosive charges that were detonated on cue to shatter the glass at the exact moment the chair was swung at the window.

There was no room for error – cast and crew had only one take to get the shot.
