THE FRENCH CONNECTION (#SW_107)
EPISODE PREMIERE: November 14, 2008
When Liz meets Devon for lunch, Devon releases his fury at Liz for doing exactly what he told his lawyer he wouldn’t do: go for the jugular. But when Liz says she knows about Campbell—a son Devon had as a result of a one-night stand sixteen years earlier—Devon softens. He tells Liz that he didn’t find out about the boy until the child was three. He agreed to pay child support to the boy’s mother and left it at that. So Liz offers to help him find out if his son is happy, which makes Devon reach for her hand with gratitude. They also bond over their shared (bad) opinion of their couples’ therapist, who was more concerned with Devon’s baseball stats than marital status. Just as the two are about to kiss, Devon gets a call: Monica, Campbell’s mother, is in town and would like to meet them first before they get to see Campbell. When Devon asks Liz what she thinks, she responds, “The sooner, the better.”

Meanwhile, contrary to his original wish, Rodney is not relishing his newfound quality time with Felix after Felix tells Rodney he has gone off of his bi-polar medication per Lola’s suggestion. When Felix tell Rodney he has planned a press conference to come out of the closet, Rodney springs into action with Bo, who admits to knowing about Felix’s secret relationship with Rodney, to lock Felix in the bathroom so he can’t set a match to his career while he’s not in his right mind.
