Miranda Otto

Miranda Otto stars as Cricket Stewart in the USA Network six-hour television event "The Starter Wife."

Otto, an Australian film and theater actress, is best known for her role as Éowyn in "The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers" in 2002 and "The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King" in 2003, and her appearance in Steven Spielberg's "War of the Worlds" in 2005. Her other film work includes roles in "What Lies Beneath" in 2000 and "The Thin Red Line" in 1998.

Before her Hollywood career, Otto spent a decade acting in Australian films garnering critical acclaim for her work. She received Australia's highest film awards for her performances in "In the Winter Dark," "The Well," "The Last Days of Chez Nous" and  "The Girl Who Came Late."

She first began her career in the film "Emma's War" in 1986 and went on to perform in a number of film and TV projects both here and in Australia.
