The Ex Factor: Unlike many celebrities who try to keep the details of their unions private, Simpson’s 2002 marriage to fellow singer Nick Lachey was chronicled on 41 episodes of MTV’s “Newlyweds: Nick & Jessica,” which cemented the buxom Texan blonde’s place in the pop cultural zeitgeist. But not too long after production shut down, the lights also went out on the marriage when the young couple called it quits in 2006.

Wife Begins Again: In the past six months, the woman who single-handedly (and double-leggedly) brought back the popularity of “Daisy Dukes” has graced the covers of Esquire, Glamour, Elle, Lucky and People magazines—brilliantly timed to coincide with her musical return to her country roots. In September she released her fifth album “Do You Know” and made her debut at the Grand Ole Opry. It also looks like Simpson has used those boots that were made for walkin’ to hightail it away from romantic involvements with fellow musical artists (she was linked to John Mayer post-divorce).

Love Interest: In her recent People magazine interview, she cooed that new love Tony Romo, the Dallas Cowboys quarterback, is her “perfect guy.” Hopefully she won’t prove to be too much of a “jinx” for Romo’s record again this season.
