The Ex Factor: The rosy-cheeked girl who claimed her fame as a ditzy blonde bimbette, Kelly Bundy, on “Married…With Children,” married longtime love and fellow actor, Jonathan Schaech, in 2001 in Palm Springs. They got un-married, without any children, in 2007.

Wife Begins Again: Applegate has had a year filled with highs—her new series “Samantha Who?” debuted in fall 2007 to much acclaim and healthy ratings, earning her an Emmy nomination—and lows. She was diagnosed with an early form of breast cancer in August and underwent a double mastectomy as a preventative measure, even though the cancer was detected in only one of her breasts. Thankfully, she is now 100 percent cancer-free. Also this summer, a former boyfriend was found dead in his apartment. But Applegate bounced back in a big way from these traumatic events, returning to the set of her hit show in September, appearing in the first-ever “Stand Up To Cancer” special that was televised by all the major networks, and presenting at the 2008 Emmy Awards.

Love Interest: Applegate probably hasn’t been too focused on dating lately, but her alter-ego is in for a big surprise when the strong-silent type James Tupper from “Men In Trees” appears on “Samantha Who?” to shake things up in the love department for the resident amnesiac.
