THE STARTER WIFE CHARITY AUCTION


In the spirit of The Starter Wife, USA Network has partnered with Dress for Success in this charity auction to celebrate new beginnings. Seventy percent of the proceeds from the auction of these wardrobe pieces will benefit Dress For Success, a non-profit organization which promotes the economic independence of women.

Wizard of Oz Wardrobe
Joan (a.k.a. Scarecrow)

This costume was worn by the character Joan (Judy Davis) during the Wizard of Oz dream sequence where she represented the Scarecrow. The wardrobe pieces include:

  • Blazer: Custom designed double-breasted jacket made of Aubergine linen weave, includes "straw" cuffs
  • Pants: Custom designed, self-belting pants made of Aubergine weave, capri cut hitting above the ankle
  • Hat: Quaker style, high crown with brim

This auction also includes an original sketch by the costume designer depicting their concept of this Wizard of Oz costume.

Wizard of Oz Wardrobe
Cricket (a.k.a. the Tin Woman)

This costume was worn by the character Cricket (Miranda Otto) during the Wizard of Oz dream sequence where she represented the Tin Woman. The wardrobe pieces include:

  • Dress: Custom designed silver sheath dress with one spaghetti shoulder strap, made of satin polyester
  • Shawl: Cut from silver lace fabric which wraps around the dress from the right shoulder, around the right thigh and up to the left hip
  • Hat: Custom designed silver oil funnel

This auction also includes an original sketch by the costume designer depicting their concept of this Wizard of Oz costume.

Wizard of Oz Wardrobe
Rodney (a.k.a. the Cowardly Lion)

This costume was worn by the character Rodney (Chris Diamantopoulos) during the Wizard of Oz dream sequence where he represented the Cowardly Lion. The wardrobe pieces include:

  • Coat: Custom designed, double-breasted full length coat with slit up the back, animal print patterned, satin lined, includes full length tail with fur
  • Collar: Detachable fur "mane" which can be worn over the coat’s collar

This auction also includes an original sketch by the costume designer depicting their concept of this Wizard of Oz costume.
