YOU'VE HOSTED THREE SHOWS NOW, WHAT HAS SURPRISED YOU MOST ABOUT YOUR ROLE AS HOST? WHAT DO YOU LIKE AND DISLIKE?

What has surprised me most about this experience with Nashville Star? Well, let me just tell you ...

HOW MUCH I LOVE THIS JOB!

Seriously, it's a lot of hard work, and I don't take it for granted. But, I believe in this process, and I wasn't sure that I would at the beginning.

I didn't know how quickly I would fall in love with all 10 contestants, but it happened the very first time I met them with their wide open hearts. I seriously adore them.

Last night, Shy and Monique were hanging out in my dressing room with John Cena and my kids and me. And I saw Jewels on stage after the show. When you so love the art, and you love what you are doing (like we all do), it's just magical. And that's what this show feels like.

I really got my groove on with Episode No. 3. I felt comfortable and in the zone, I loved my gold outfit and Aldo shoes. Everyone was at their best, it was beautiful.

Of course, I never like the end when someone is voted off. I know it's part of the process, but I firmly believe that there's a place in this world for everyone.

The more that this group, MY FAMILY, is disbanded, the more my heart breaks. It isn't easy, trust me. Because I love all of them and have bonded uniquely and individually with each of them. There is a big hole in my heart from not getting to see them in rehearsals and hanging out in the green room.

Of course, I've seen Jewels and Shy a bunch (I met a lot of Shy's family Tuesday). And I know I will see Monique a lot.

Monique told me that she already had some offers. That makes me so happy for her, because she has already made it this far! I just love her so much, her talent is remarkable and she is inspiring to me. She works three jobs and is so blessed. She's going places, that's for sure.

I thought I would share some other thoughts about my days at Nashville Star this week. I usually get to the Acuff Theatre at 1 p.m. or 2 p.m. on Mondays and Tuesdays. We read through the script, which the fabulous Jeff Boggs has created, at the very beginning of our days on Monday. Troy and I get to tweak what we say to each other.

We usually do one or two run-throughs on Monday and then one or two on Tuesday, each time revising the dialogue or the order of things. The contestants are picked in random order so that they don't know who will be in the final two during the live show.

Even during rehearsals, my heart breaks for them. It's so surreal.

Last Thursday, I went to the Opryland Hotel and spent time with each contestant in a one-on-one capacity. I have really enjoyed getting to know them as a group AND individually. They have all really shared deep thoughts and insights with me, which I will always treasure.

I hope that in some small way I can say something to them that will help or enlighten them as well.

This past Tuesday, my dressing room was the "kids zone." There were six kids under the age of 14 in my dressing room. WOW! What adrenaline!

They were all excited about getting to meet John Cena and hold his belt. My dressing room looked like a wrestling arena after the show. There was popcorn everywhere. They had so much fun. I love bringing my kids and their friends to the show. It was definitely controlled chaos.

I had the first outfit on last night which was made by the fabulous Richard Metzgar. He works with Oprah and REALLY knows how to dress a woman. I borrowed a necklace that would have cost over $9000 and my friends at Aldo donated some shoes for me to wear. I was feeling so sassy.

My Mom comes next week and I'm certain she has EVERYTHING down, from what she will wear to what she will say to how her perfectly lined lips will look. She is amazing. I'm sure it will remind some longtime Judds fans how connected at the hip we are, but how I can get her rather excited and passionate as well!

Lastly, don't forget to check out this guitar for YouthAIDS on eBay.

Keep those cards and letters coming! Take care of yourselves.

You are loved,
Wynonna
