WHAT DID YOU THINK OF THE FIRST SHOW AND HOW HARD IS IT TO SEE SOMEONE GET ELIMINATED?
It's really tough to lose a member of your family.
Jewels was someone that I immediately connected with right from the start. When I first met her a few weeks ago, she started crying ... not in a strange or awkward way. She was just so real and authentic.
And she was dynamite on stage. She really held on to me tightly when I was doing my sister-mommy mentoring. She tried so hard, and I love that about her. I teased her during rehearsals last week that we should just go ride our Harleys! But she was very serious and dedicated.
As with everyone in this group, they all came with their best foot forward. Everyone in this group is equally worthy of being a winner. And Jewels is a winner.
I would sit and watch her sing along to each of the other contestants when they were rehearsing. No one else was really watching her as she waited her turn, but I noticed her. How could you not! She would sing along to the word of every contestant's song.
She has such huge personality and the biggest heart. She's really going places and I will be excited to watch her grow.
As I said last week, this whole process is very intense. I hate that someone has to leave our little family. But it is not the end of the road by any means for Jewels. She's just getting started.
And remember, Jewels, God don't make no junk. And never is a door shut that a window doesn't open.
Jewels, you rock. And you are loved, sisterfriend.
