THE JUDGES SEEMED SURPRISED THAT AMERICA SENT KRISTEN HOME AND HAD A LOT OF TOUGH THINGS TO SAY AS A RESULT. AS AN ARTIST, HOW DO YOU HANDLE BEING JUDGED BY BOTH THE PUBLIC AND INDUSTRY PROFESSIONALS?
The judges were quite surprised about Tuesday's outcome, but that's not an uncommon reaction since they are not the ones voting. Since this is an audience-controlled competition, they have to expect that there will be pockets of fans voting each week for a contestant that the judges may think should not be there.
But that's OK because that, in my opinion, helps to ensure those fans will continue to watch each week.
As an artist, I'm accustomed to the public judging my music, appearance, and anything else that has to do with my career. I understand that that is the nature of things.
It obviously took a bit to get used to it in the beginning but as time goes on, things tend to smooth out.
You have to focus on what you do and let everything else shake out as it will.
